Dr. Nayef Al-Rodhan is a Philosopher, Neuroscientist and Geo-Strategist . He is a Senior Member of St. Antony's College, Oxford University . He is also Senior Scholar in Geo-Strategy and Director of the Program on the Geopolitical Implications of Globalization and Transnational security, at the Geneva Center for Security Policy, Geneva, Switzerland. He holds an MD and a PhD . He trained in Neuroscience research at the Mayo Clinic, Yale University and Harvard university. At Harvard, he founded and directed the Neurotechnology program, and headed tranlational research at the dept of Neurosurgery at MGH, Harvard Medical School. He also founded the laboratories of Cellular Neurosurgery and Neurosurgical Technology at MGH, Harvard . He was on the faculty of the Harvard Medical School and has published extensively in Neuroscience and won several research awards that included : the Sir James Spense Prize,the Farquahar-Murray Prize, the Gibb Prize, The American association of Neurological Surgeons Poster Prize( twice), the Meninger Prize, the Annual Resident Prize of the American Congress of Neurological Surgeons , the Young Investigator Prize of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons , and the Annual Fellowship Prize of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. He then began a new field of leveraging his insights into the neurochemical foundations of human nature and its predilections in the study of global security, global governance, conflicts and the substrates of human moral and political cooperation. He has published seventeen ( 17 ) books on these subjects and these have included : The Five Dimensions of Global Security : Proposal for a Multi-Sum Security Principle , Emotional Amoral Egoism : A Neuro-Philosophical theory of Human Nature and its Universal Security Implications., Neo-Statecraft and Meta-Geopolitics : Reconciliation of power, Interests , and Justice in the 21st Century, Sustainable History and the Dignity of Man : A Philosophy of History and Civilizational Triumph ,Potential Global Strategic Catastrophes : Balancing trans-national Responsibilities and Burden-Sharing with Sovereignty and Human Dignity . His interests include :

  • Neuro-Chemical Foundations and Predilections of Human Nature and their Implications for Global Governance and discourse and possible sustainable moral and political cooperation .
