The Evian Group advocates the strengthening of the multilateral rules-based trading system and is committed to the agenda for trade liberalization, especially at this time of grave geopolitical instability. A more open world economy is the indispensable means for generating growth – hence jobs and improved living standards – and therefore the way for a more prosperous and peaceful world.
The aim of the global regional meetings is to cultivate policy debate with a lens on international and multilateral economic integration as well as on the implications and meanings the current Doha Round holds for each specific region.
